Obituary

William P. Ferris, 78, of Cream Ridge, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024.

Born in Trenton, Bill resided in Allentown where he, at the time, had an antique shop on Main Street.  He later resided in Vermont and Wisconsin for many years, before returning to New Jersey.  A US Marine veteran serving in Vietnam, Bill was a Purple Heart recipient Following his time in the service, among many passions and pursuits, he worked for the NJ State Prison System and later at the St. Camillus Hospice Care Unit. He enjoyed sports and watching football and mixed martial arts.

Bill loved nature and animals, especially his cat and dog, but the most important things to him were his family and his Buddhist faith which he continually studied and practiced.

Son of the late William and Helen (Robbins) Ferris, he was predeceased by his sister, Gail Ryan.  Bill is survived by his wife, Lorraine Grant; his two sons and daughter-in-law, Benjamin Ferris and Daniel Ferris (Juliet); his grandchildren, Jalen, Austin, and Tate Ferris; and two nieces, Katie Ryan and Cheryl Federico.  He is also survived by four stepdaughters, Donna Grant Jones (Wayne), Lori Grant Peters (James), Kathleen Searles (Scott), and Rebecca Matthews (Richard); seven step-grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren.

Services are private under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
