Obituary

William A. Brown, 80, of Bordentown Township died on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton. Mr. Brown was born in Westerly, R.I., and resided in this area for much of his life. Bill retired from the City of Bordentown, where he was a maintenance mechanic, and also from Pinkerton Security, where he served as a captain. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of both the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Bill was predeceased by a stepson, Thomas Crawford, and by his wife, Frances M. Brown. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Laverne Brown of Bordentown; a stepson and spouse, Michael and Maryann Crawford of Burlington; a stepdaughter and spouse, Debra and Robert Scanlon of Franklin, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Mary Schultz of Burlington; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, where friends may call from 6 p.m. until the time of the service. The family requests memorials be made to Compassionate Care Hospice.
