William Barnes Jr., 76, of Browns Mills, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at his home. Born in Trenton, he resided in Allentown for most of his life before moving to Browns Mills. A U.S. Army Veteran, William retired from Princeton Nursery and most recently worked at Salt-n-light. He was a member of Acts Gospel University Church of Hightstown. William was a talented carpenter who also owned his own small engine repair shop. Son of the late William and Mabel Barnes, he was predeceased by two children, Evelyn Marshall and David Barnes. He is survived by his wife of 52 Years, Delores Barnes; his children, Ronald and Lisa Marshall, Elizabeth Barnes Powell and her husband Charles, Judy and John Johnson and Thomas and Sonya Barnes; his grandchildren, Victoria, Crystal and Jamilla Marshall, John IV and Janell Johnson, Dwayne, Darnella, Brandon, Devon and Jordan Barnes; his great grandchildren, Joshua, Jebri, Javai and Tiara; his sisters Audrey and Chester Holland and Margaret Barnes as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 9:30am on Friday, August 26th at the First Baptist Church of Hightstown, 125 S. Main St. Hightstown. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arneytown. Friends may call Thursday from 7 â?? 9pm at the Peppler Funeral Home 114 So. Main St. Allentown and at the Church, Friday 8:30am until the time of service.
