Obituary

William N. Albach, 85, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 in Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick after a long illness. Born in Bayonne, NJ, Bill was a drummer in the St. Vincent's cadets Drum and Bugle Corps. He earned his bachelor's degree from Adelphi University in Long Island, NY and was an US Navy Veteran, having served on the destroyer, the USS Albert T. Harris. Bill retired in 1992 from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as Detective Sergeant. During his 32 years with the Port Authority, he served in all 13 facilities, with his last posting at Newark Airport.

Bill was a member of the Board of Trustees at Four Seasons Community in Upper Freehold Twp. for four years, two of which he served as president of the association. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman. He also enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rosemary Albach (nee O'Connor); his daughters, Susan Bennett, Catherine Jordan (Paul), Rosemary Albach, and Regina D'Esposito (Michael); his sons, William Jr. (Cecily), Robert (Mary Ann), Joseph (Edith), and Thomas (Shoba); his grandchildren, Dylan Albach (Rochelle), Ryan Albach (Lauren), Justin and Ashley Malone, Kaitlin, Christiana and Connor Jordan, Nicholas and Daniel D'Esposito, Emma and Andrew Albach, Salena and Tara Albach, and William Grant, as well as his great grandson, Jack Albach.

A viewing will be held Thursday, October 7 th from 2-4pm and again 6-8pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Friday, October 8 th at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Allentown. Interment will be held in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill's name to a charity of the donors' choice.
