Wesley F. Holman, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2023. He was born in Trenton, grew up in Plainsboro, and raised his family in Dutch Neck before retiring to Columbus.
Wesley worked the family farm prior to joining the Navy and serving in the Korean War. After returning to the states, he met his loving wife Shirley after a mail mix-up as they both had the same last name. During his long lifetime he was very active in his community. He was a Windsor Police Officer, worked for ASCOP and Fifth Dimension before eventually becoming part of the Public Security Department for Princeton University for 25 years. He was a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post 76 of Princeton and enjoyed taking part in many legion activities and parades. He was a former member of the West Windsor Volunteer Fire Company and a 65+ year member of the Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, fishing, camping, cooking, and relaxing at the Jersey Shore. He will be deeply missed for his sense of humor, quick wit, generous nature, and loving heart.
Preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Mazie Holman, his beloved wife of 55 years Shirley Holman, sister Grace Hand, and brother Clarence (Chick) Holman. He is survived by his beloved children Holly and Norman Crochetiere of Robbinsville, Joy Holman of Toms River, Guy and Laura Holman of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren Norman (III) and Erin Crochetiere of San Marcos, CA, Kerri and Brian Taylor of Jessup, MD, Wesley Holman of Gloucester Township, Joy Holman of Lacey Township, and Alex Holman of Denver Colorado; Great grandchildren Emeline and Landon Taylor and Eavan and Norman (IV) Crochetiere; and many nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
Funeral Services will be held 12 pm Thursday, November 30 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St, Allentown, NJ. Friends may call from 11 am until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Princeton Junction, NJ.
