Walter F. Helfrecht, Jr., 64, of Upper Freehold Twp., passed away Friday, April 27, 2018.  Born in Orange, NJ, he attended West Orange High School and was a 1975 graduate of NJIT.  He worked for Allied Signal/Bendix Corp. as an electrical engineer for many years before opening H&M Analytical Services with his husband, William Mayo. Walt was a proud member of the Presbyterian Church of Toms River Choir and was extremely involved in his community.  He was environmentally, civically and politically active serving as a member on many committees including the Doctors Creek Watershed Association.

Son of the late Walter and Frances Helfrecht, he was predeceased by three sisters, Florence Williams (Helfrecht), Debbie Israel (Kay) and Evelyn Mosier (Kay).  Walt is survived by his husband, Bill Mayo; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack Williams, Brian and Elizabeth Mayo and Gayle Owen; his beloved cats, Dawg and Princess Di as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 1 ^st from 1-4pm and again 6-9pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown, NJ.  Inurnment will be private at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Help Hope Live organ recipient support organization at www.helphopelive.org.
