Walter J. Eberle, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on December 30, 2016, with his family by his side. Born in Chicago, IL, he had resided in Hamilton Township most of his life. He was a retired machinist after over 30 years with General Motors and was considered a Master Carpenter. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Hanover and Springfield Golf Club's and was a member of the Allentown Presbyterian Church and its men's group.
Walter loved his children, his grandchildren, animals, cars and enjoyed sailing. He was a passionate environmentalist, was a strong, independent, yet very gentle man who was well loved by many. He will be deeply missed.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Gerry Eberle, his parents, Edward and Emma Eberle and his brother Edward Eberle, he is survived by his children: Louise M. Eberle of Florence, NJ, Laurie Snyder and her husband Raymond of Bucks County, PA and Larry Eberle and his partner Ian Bluestein of Lansdowne, PA and two grandchildren: Clayton and Wil Snyder. Dad had a special love and affection for his earth angels and care takers, Mary, Robin and Susan, who became a second family to him.
A Memorial Service celebrating Walter's life will be 11 am Tuesday, January 10 at the Allentown Presbyterian Church, 20 High St, Allentown, NJ. Interment will follow in the Brig. General Wm C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. Friends may meet with the family from 10 am until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Walter's name to Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, 733 Third Ave., Suite 510, New York, NY 10017. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
