Virgil V. Gross, 42, stationed at Fort Dix and a resident of Millstone Township, NJ, passed away on Friday afternoon, June 1, 2012.  Born September 11, 1969 in Potsdam, NY, Sergeant Gross, for the past 21 years, has been on active duty in the United States Army.

Predeceased by his mother, Virginia T. Cartenuto Gross and his wife of 21 years, Amy Hughes Gross; Virgil is survived by his four children, Samantha A. (18), Nicholas V. (16), Charles Bernard (14), and Joshua A. (13); his father, Bernard F. Gross and his stepmother Lynda McAllister Gross; his sister and brother-in-law, Carrie (Gross) and Warren Dashno of Potsdam, NY; stepsister, Katherine McAllister and her husband Arseny Bogomolov of Centreville, VA; stepbrother, Frank McAllister of Reston, VA; other siblings, Harold and (Diane) Cota, Lois and (Sean) McClure, Leland and (Barbara) Cota, Victor and (Denise) Cota, Eleanor and (Reginald) Rattie, Julie and (Randy) Webster.

A funeral service for all friends and family will be held at 11am on Wednesday, June 6th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 So. Main St. Allentown.  Friends and family are welcome to attend a viewing on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contriubutions may be made to the Amy and Virgil Gross Family Fund, c/o Peppler Funeral Home, 114 South Main St. Allentown, NJ 08501.
