IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Victor Daniel
"Danny" Collazo
October 9, 1965 – October 17, 2023
Victor Daniel Collazo, affectionately known as Danny, 58 of Millstone Twp., NJ passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family, from Young Onset Alzheimer's. Born in the "Boogie down" Bronx, NY, he lived in Philadelphia and Maple Glen, PA for 10 years before moving to Millstone Township, NJ in 2013. Proud of his Taino Native American background, Victor worked mainly as a contractor, but his true passion was the rescue, rehabilitation, and public education of birds of prey. He established and ran Sky King Raptor Rescue which also provided Raptor, Native American education programs and animal husbandry programs for many area civic organizations as well as for the Southwest Trading Post in Skippack, PA.
Victor was written up in the Humane Society's Animal Sheltering Magazine about his rescue and rehabilitation of an injured hawk. He volunteered for the Schuylkill Wildlife Center where he first became certified to work with birds of prey and was called on at all hours to rescue injured and sick birds. He was certified by the Carolina Raptor Center (NC) for Eagle Rescue and Rehabilitation and was very proud to have rehabilitated the first bald eagle chick for the Pennsylvania Game Commission, which was released in Valley Forge National Park.
Victor was a talented musician, teaching himself to play guitar and the Native American flute, both of which he played beautifully. He was a classic truck enthusiast and loved the outdoors. Victor also loved people. He made friends easily and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Son of the late Victor and Alicia Collazo, he was predeceased by his eldest brother, Milton Collazo. Danny is survived by his soul mate and loving wife of 20 years, Jennifer Hader; his children, Leah Sanoguet (Israel), Nicole Irizarry-Barran (Shawn), Breanna Collazo, Keith Collazo, and Jonathan Collazo; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Lionel "Leo" Collazo, Oscar and Ana Collazo, Steven and Marisol Collazo, and Angie Collazo, wife of Milton; as well as 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Saturday, October 21st from 1-3pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown, NJ. A celebration of life will be held in the Bronx at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Victor's name to The Carolina Raptor Center. www.carolinaraptorcenter.org or to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org
