Tommie Ware, 90, of Burlington, passed away Wednesday May 26, 2021 at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Smith Station, Alabama, he was a US Army veteran retiring as a Sgt 1 st Class after 27 years of military service. He continued working as a Corrections Officer for the NJ Dept of Corrections for over 20 years. Tommie was a longtime member of the Masonic Organization and loved to dance and garden and especially enjoyed mowing his lawn.
Predeceased by his daughter, Terrie Ware and his sisters, Florence Dabny, Rose Ware and Frances Ware. Tommie is survived by his wife and partner of 31 years, Terressa Ware; his stepchildren, Michael Irving Hall Jr, Tamara Briana Arlene Hall and Dorothea Everly Elsie Hall; his many grandchildren, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William Ivory, Robert Mitchell and his wife, Kim, Anthony Mitchell and his wife, Molly, John Mitchell, Lena Mitchell, Joyce Watt, Evangula Young and Annette Mitchell, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.
A Funeral service will be held Friday, June 4 th at 12 noon at Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St Bordentown, NJ. Friends may call 11 am until time of service. Interment will be held on Tuesday, June 8th at 1:30pm at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
