Thomas A. Queenan, Jr., 75, of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, May 6th at Capital Health Systems, Mercer. Born and raised in New Brunswick, he resided in Allentown for over 25 years. Thomas was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, and held a Master's Degree from Trenton State College. He taught English at South Brunswick High School until his retirement in 1988. For many years, Tom worked for the Allentown Public Library. He was an avid Arts hobbyist and especially enjoyed photography and theater. A 2008 article in The Examiner said, ""Allentown's Tom Queenan has discovered a way to capture the elusive, by collecting and carefully juxtaposing found objects in small frames and boxes.""
Son of the late Thomas and Helen Queenan; Thomas is survived by his partner, Charles Andrew Rudin; his brother, William J. Queenan of Centerville, MA; his sister, Paula Q. Connolly and her husband William of Centerville, MA as well as nieces and nephews, AnnaMarie, William, Patrick and Daniel Connolly.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 17, at 2 pm at Allentown Public Library, 14 So. Main St. Those wishing to honor him may make contributions to the library. Arrangements are made under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown
