Thomas Prokop, 78, of Fieldsboro, passed away Tuesday, July 14th at St. Francis Medical Center. Born in Scranton, PA, he and his family moved to Fieldsboro in 1940. Mr. Prokop retired from the New Jersey Turnpike after 27 years of employment. He was a member of the Roebling Slovak Club, the Hamilton Rod and Gun Club and St. Mary's Church in Bordentown. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and was always giving family and friends vegetables from his garden. He also liked taking his chance at the lottery.
Son of the late Joseph and Josephine Prokop and brother of the late Joseph Prokop and Delores Lamson; his is survived by his wife of over fifty years, Catherine Prokop; his son, Thomas Prokop and Brenda Hartmann of Fieldsboro; two grandchildren, Taryn and Derek Prokop; a brother-in-law, Robert Lamson of Bordentown and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 8pm Sunday, July 19th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St. Bordentown. The Rev. Felix F. Venza will officiate. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8pm. Interment will be held 9am Monday at St. Mary's Parish Cemetery, Bordentown.
