Thomas J. McCarthy, 69, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Virtua Hospital at Burlington County in Mt. Holly. Born and raised in Yardley, PA, he had lived in Yardville, NJ for the last 40 years.
He was a graduate of Pennsbury High School and received an associate's degree in Mortuary Science from Mercer County Community College. Tom had worked for the General Motors, Fisher Body Plant in Ewing for over 25 years and had also worked for several Funeral Homes in the Ewing and Trenton area. He was a member of the Mt. Moriah Lodge #28 F&AM, a Past Patron and Grand Officer of the Bordentown Chapter #257 O.E.S. and the Crescent Shrine of Westampton, NJ. He was also a member of the Pearson Memorial Church and the Eastern Square Wheelers Camping Group. Tom enjoyed NASCAR and everything Disney, but what he enjoyed most was his family and dear friends and he will be deeply missed.
Predeceased by his parents, Florence and Lucille McCarthy and his mother-in-law, Erva Cubberley, he is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Cheryl McCarthy, his 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Heather and Michael Savage of Bainbridge, GA, Meghan and Andrew Grosse of Morrisville, PA and Melissa and Charles Peterson of Hamilton. His brother and sister: Joseph McCarthy and Catherine Latta both of Sebring, FL, his father-in-law, Harry Cubberley of Yardville and seven grandchildren: Hunter, Dylan, Dalton, Keegan, Landon, Jake and Emma.
Funeral Services will be 11 am Friday, April 28 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Interment will follow in North Crosswicks Cemetery, Hamilton Township. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm and again on Friday morning from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be Thursday evening at 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, 3551 N. Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
