Thomas S. Avalone, 42, of Allentown died Saturday, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Jersey City, NJ he had lived in the Allentown area for the last 5 years. He was an auditor for the Department of Revenue, of the State of Illinois. Thomas was a coach for eight years with the Jackson Little League and was active in the local men's softball league. He raised funds for the Lymphoma/Leukemia Society, loved to fish and ski and most of all was a great dad.
He is survived by his parents, Henrietta Avalone of Toms River and Charles Avalone of Whiting. His fiancé, Sandi LoDolce of Allentown, his children; Thomas S. Jr. and Hope E. Avalone as well as Kate E. and Lauren N. LoDolce, who loved him very much. A brother and sister-in-law; Michael C. and Victoria Avalone of Lanoka Harbor, NJ A sister and brother-in-law; Donna and Joseph Humphries of Bethel, CT. and nieces and nephews; Christopher and Erin Humphries and Carlene and Daniel Avalone.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 10:00 am at St. John's Church, Yardville-Allentown Rd., Allentown, NJ. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call Wednesday 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 South Main St., Allentown, NJ.
