Obituary

Theodore Van Pelt, Jr., 61, of Allentown, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 surrounded by his family. Born in Princeton, Ted resided in Allentown for many years. An avid softball player, in his prime Ted played for the Mercer County, Hamilton Twp. and New Egypt Softball leagues, ending his career playing in the Upper Freehold Twp., softball league. He loved teaching kids to drive and helped many pass their driving tests and was a huge Tom Brady fan. Ted could often be seen out front or sitting on the porch waving and talking to anyone who came by.

The first male member of the Hope Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Ted enjoyed taking care of his home, yard and his "guys" Bonnie and Clyde. His greatest love was his wife and daughters who he took great care of and would do anything for them.

Son of the late Theodore Van Pelt Sr., Ted is survived by his mother, Anna Van Pelt; his beloved wife of 35 years, Cindy Van Pelt; his children, Tara Elizabeth and Troy Gonzalez and Roxi (Roco) Van Pelt and her fiancé Thomas Viviano Jr.; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Judy Van Pelt; brother-in-law, George Taylor Jr.; nieces and nephews, Travis, Tyler, Adam, and Ashley Van Pelt, and Jeff Fenton; his special fishing buddy, Charlize Taylor; close friends, Kurt Wayton and Terri and Hodges Bacon; his grandcats, Tiger, Marshall, and Bean and his special four legged friend, Gordon Ramsay Iron Chef.

Ted is also survived by the many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends that he has made over the years.

A viewing will be held Saturday, May 6 th from 3-6pm at the Hope Fire Company in Allentown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Fire Company No 1, 82 Route 526, Allentown, NJ 08501.

Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
