Obituary

Theodore R. Lange , 90, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Treasure Coast Hospice Lynch Pavilion in Fort Pierce, FL. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he had lived in Hyde Park, NY prior to moving to Chesterfield back in the 1930's. He was a graduate of William MacFarland High School in Bordentown and served in the Army National Guard. He was a Chief Lineman and became Safety Supervisor for PSE&G and a member of the IBEW Local 94. Ted was a member of the Chesterfield Township School Board and the Yapewi Aquatic Club of Bordentown and was instrumental in the rebuilding after they suffered damage due to fire. Ted was deeply involved in helping all his children build or restore their homes and Ted and Chris' businesses, Chesterfield Floral Co. and Second Chance Salvage. He was a man of many interests and enjoyed working with his hands in the garage and in the wood shop. He was always available to help whoever asked and will be deeply missed.
Predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth Ann Lewton, his parents George and Dorothy Lange, and his brother G. Richard Lange. He is survived by his current wife Eleanor Molloy Lange; his sons: Theodore J Lange (Jon Davis) of Chesterfield Township, Christopher Lange (Mary Ann) of Hutchinson Island, FL and Jennifer Tornquist (Barry) also of Chesterfield Township; his grandchildren: Jeremiah Tornquist (Joelle), Jessica Schwalje (Dave), Emily McKenna (Jesse), Deanna Lange and Joseph Lange (Morgan); his great-grandchildren: Kaenin Tornquist, Logan and Landon Schwalje, Monroe Lange and Jane McKenna. He also leaves behind a host of dear friends and family members, new and old.
He treasured them all.
Funeral Services will be held 11 am Friday January 31 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm and again on Friday morning from 10 am until time of service. Interment will follow in North Crosswicks Cemetery, Hamilton Township, NJ.
Under the circumstances the family strongly suggests making a donation in his memory to a charity you think honors his legacy instead of a floral tribute. As a suggestion, Ted was always particularly generous to charities that involved childhood disease such as Shriners Hospital for Children and St. Judes Hospital.
