Suzanne M. Tuccillo, 74, of Bordentown Township passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at her home, with her family and friends by her side. Born in Trenton, she moved to Bordentown in 1962 where she started an Arabian horse farm that she carried over from her parents' residence in Harbourton, NJ. Suzanne was best known by the locals for her farm, on Hogback Rd. It was a playground for the boys and girls of local organizations such as cub scouts and 4-H, of which she was also a leader. Her farm served as a sanctuary for unwanted pets from various humane societies across the country. In 1998, her passion shifted from horses to alpaca's. Along with Shirl Vaughn, her best friend and business partner, she began raising alpaca's. She was a member of the New Jersey Alpaca Community, the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association, and the Mid-Atlantic Alpaca Association. She was also certified as an alpaca show judge. Sue graduated Ewing High School in 1956 and received her degree in Microbiology from Rider College. In the late sixties she drove a school bus for the townships of Ewing and Bordentown. She was then employed by St. Francis Medical Center as a phlebotomist for 26 years (until 1998) and later worked as a field examiner for Port-A-Medic. When she wasn't farming you could find her at the Barnegat Bay. She loved fishing, clamming, sailing, and jet skiing. At the end of the day she would enjoy the sunset over a cocktail. For those who were fortunate to know her, we ask that you remember her for the amazing woman that she was and the strength she instilled in all of us.
Daughter of the late Dr. William & Grace Eames, she was predeceased by her sister-in-law, June Eames. Suzanne is survived by her four children, Mark Tuccillo of Alaska, Luke Tuccillo and his wife Dawn of Florida, Marie Tuccillo-Pelke and her husband Bob of Hamilton and Vivian Tuccillo-Giglio and her husband Glenn of Bordentown; six grandchildren, Jamie Orban, Shannon Pelke, Marlana and Adrienne Tuccillo, Nicholas Giglio, and Joey Tuccillo; two brothers, Bill Eames of Florida and Terry Eames and her best friend, Shirl Vaughn.
