Steve Duritt, 50, of Chesterfield, died suddenly on Wednesday, July 1st. Originally from Yardville; Steve was a 1977 graduate of Steinert High School. He attended Rutgers University and Mercer County Community College where in 1980 he earned an AS degree in Electrical Engineering; he then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. He was a former employee of Princeton University Plasma Physics Lab and currently was employed as an Electrical Engineer for Empire Abrasives in Oxford Valley, PA. A professional musician, he was a bassist with several area and national bands and was an authorized Fender Technician for Lou Mercuri Music in Burlington. Steve was a collector of vintage guitars, an avid classic car and racing fan and enjoyed following local Philadelphia sports teams.

Son of the late Steven Paul Duritt, Jr. and grandson of the late Stephen P. Sr., and Irene Duritt and Joseph and Lena DiBella; he is survived by his mother, Santina D. Duritt; a sister, Christina DeAngelo; a brother, Paul Duritt; a nephew and his wife, Jeremy and Amanda DeAngelo; two nieces, Rita and Clara DeAngelo; an aunt, Viola Palmieri as well as several cousins, friends and acquaintances.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 555 Allentown Rd., Yardville. Interment will follow in Emley's Hill Cemetery, Cream Ridge. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 pm and again Monday 8:30-9:30 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.
