Obituary

Stephen M. Marusky, 94 of Hamilton passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at his home.  Born in Trenton on May 18, 1924 to the late Wendel and Rozalia Marusky, at age six he moved to the family farm in Robbinsville and later attended Allentown High School. After serving in the military, he returned in 1952 to Trenton for 8 years prior to moving to Hamilton Square where he resided for the rest of his life.  During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp with the 1 st Armored Amphibian Battalion as a tank driver. He earned the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with 3 campaign stars for the Marshall Islands, Guam and Okinawa. He was also awarded a battalion commendation for the retaking of Guam.

A graduate of Trenton Jr. College, he was an Assistant Art Instructor at the School of Industrial Arts for 3 years. He attended many professional watercolor workshops, adult evening art classes, and completed the famous Art Correspondence course.  He was previously employed at Congoleum- Nairn as a printer for 11 years and later retired from the R.C. Maxwell Outdoor Advertising Company as Art Director after 30 years of employment.  Over the years he enjoyed watercolor, painting, gardening, trips to LBI, Vermont and his yearly Marine Corp Reunions and being with family and friends. Mr. Marusky was a member of the Garden State Watercolor society, American Legion and St. Gregory the Great Church of Hamilton Square since 1960.

Predeceased by a son, Thomas, a grandson, Frank Marusky; three brothers, Joe, John and Frank Marusky and a sister, Rose Sisolak; he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vivian; children, Steven W. Marusky and his companion, Donna Fera of Hamilton, Michael Marusky and wife, Sherly of Mercerville, Vivian Bethea and husband, Jim of Allentown, Robert Marusky and wife, Denise of Hamilton; grandsons, Michael Marusky, Steven V. Marusky (Alicia), Thomas and Matthew Bethea; granddaughters, Michelle Marusky, Anastasia Taglienti (Marc), Jordan, Samantha and Bethany Marusky; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 9:30am on Friday, August 3
rd at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 So. Main St., Allentown.  Interment will follow in the Brigadier General Willaim C. Doyle Vetereans Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
