Stephaney (Huminski) Hlubik, 84, died late Wednesday at the Brandywine Moorestown Estates. Born in Riverside, New Jersey, Stephaney has been an area resident of Chesterfield since 1950. She was a graduate of Palmyra High School, Class of 1943. Stephaney was employed as a secretary in the Engineering Department of Fleet Wings, Bristol, Pa., from 1943 to 1947, where light aircraft bombers were manufactured for the war effort. She had many interesting stories concerning this early work life including the visit of the late Howard Hughes, American aviator, engineer, industrialist, film producer, film director, philanthropist, and one of the wealthiest people in the world.
Stephaney left for employment at the large chemical firm Rohm and Haas, Philadelphia, and again worked in the Engineering Department famous for the development of ""Plexiglas"", where she stayed until her marriage in late 1950 to Paul Hlubik. This change was radical for the small-town raised, city-girl employee, who now found herself as a homemaker and co-business partner of a young dairy farmer from a large family in northern Burlington County. A lifelong love of challenge inspired her to become versed in everything there was to know about agriculture, and with her bookkeeping acumen, she and her late husband Paul, together in hard work, had a successful farming career as co-owners of Level Vue Farm. Stephaney enjoyed life and especially her time with the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She remains an inspirational figurehead to them for hard work, excellence in character, the love of family and the ""joy of song"". ""Babchi"", as she is affectionately known to her great-grandchildren, would greet them with a big hug, smiles and with little Nick, a verse of ""You are My Sunshine"".
She is a member of the New Jersey Farm Bureau, and formerly a member of the Chesterfield Township and St. Mary's School, Bordentown, PTAs. Stephaney also was a member of the Church of the Assumption, New Egypt, Rosary Altar Society. Stephaney was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Bordentown, and the Church of the Assumption.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Czaplitski) Huminski, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 53 years, Paul Stephen Hlubik and brothers Marian ""Frank"", Casimir, Vincent and Hillary (Harry) Huminski. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and David Salewski of North Hanover and Bernadette H. Schell, Ph.D. and her husband Andrew of Whitby, Ontario; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul J. and Katherine Hlubik of North Hanover; six grandchildren, Julia and (Douglas) Erney, Alan and (Magdalena) Salewski, Jennifer A., Miranda M., Brendan D. and Ryan Schell; and three great-grandsons, Noah Alan Salewski, and Nicholas Xavier and Luke Tobias Erney; one brother, Henry Huminski of Delran, two brothers-in-law, Andrew Hlubik of New Egypt and Richard Owen of Ewing; and three sisters-in-law, Susanne Murawski of Ewing; Harriet Hlubik of Upper Freehold Township, and Judy Huminski of Moorestown, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
