Sophie Pogranicy Foley, 83, of Allentown, died peacefully on Friday, April 30, 2010 at St. Francis Compassionate Care Hospice, Trenton. Born June 25, 1926 at the Pogranicy family farm in Allentown, she was a lifelong Allentown resident. Sophie graduated from Allentown High School and worked at Stangl Pottery and Walson Army Hospital at Fort Dix, NJ as a medical transcriber. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, the Altar Rosary Society and sang in the St. John's Choir for many years. She loved to dance and enjoyed spending hours working in her yard and mowing the lawn. She adored her grandchildren and considered her time with them the joy of her life.

Sophie is survived by her two sons, Brian P. Foley and Kevin J. Foley both of Allentown and their wives, Vicki and Suzanne; five grandchildren; her sister Anne Pogranicy, also of Allentown as well as several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 3rd at 10am at St. John's Church, 1282 Yardville Rd, Allentown. Interment will follow at the Parish Cemetery. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Association1060 Kings Hwy North, Ste 309, Cherry Hill, NJ or to Compassionate Care Hospice, 601 Hamilton Ave. Trenton, NJ 08629.
