Shirley J. Bergner, 76, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013 at her home. Born in Trenton, she resided in Roebling for 43 years before moving to Burlington. She worked for Cuban Tobacco in Trenton and also as a School Bus Aide for Burlington Township. Shirleyâ??s passion for roller skating led her to meet her husband, Harry, and they continued to do so throughout their life together.
Daughter of the late Leon and Louise Beatty and wife of the late Harry P. Bergner, she was predeceased by two sisters, Gertrude Karch and Arlene(Robert) Aigner. Shirley is survived by her children, Brenda Caruso and her husband Anthony, Harry Bergner and his wife Stephanie and Dawn Bergner-Thompson and her husband James; four brothers, Leon(Fran), Vernon(Marie), Ronald(Bette) and Charles Beatty; three sisters, Joyce Moore, Janet Markham(Ed) and Gayle Yakelewicz (Martin); brother-in-law, John Karch, as well as ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Thursday, June 13 th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown. Interment will follow in North Crosswicks Cemetery, Hamilton. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-9 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
