Shirley A. Bastedo, 89 of East Windsor passed away peacefully in the company of her family at the University Hospital in Newark on Saturday, November 29th 2025. Shirley was born in Cranbury, NJ to Gertrude and Ernest Perrine.  She graduated from Hightstown Highschool in 1953 and lived in the Cranbury-East Windsor area her entire life. She worked for McGraw-Hill as a group leader, retiring in 1991 after twenty-five years.

Shirley loved life and lived every day to the fullest. She enjoyed the blossoming trees and flowers in the spring, summer vacations at the beach, the fall foliage and the winter holidays with her family. Shirley especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grand child. She also enjoyed volunteer work, activities at the local senior center and Mahjong games with friends.

Shirley was predeceased by parents, her loving husband of fifty-three years, Robert C. Bastedo Sr., her sister-in-law, Barbara Mahler, and her husband Jacob Mahler. She is survived by her two sons, Robert C. Jr. (daughter-in-law Sandi) and William P. Bastedo; four grandchildren: William, Sara (husband Dan), Kaitlyn (husband Mark) and Michael Bastedo; a niece, Lelani; and a great-grandchild, Wesley.

Services are private under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
