Obituary

Sherry A. Johnson, 58 of Cream Ridge passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Trenton, Sherry graduated from Lawrence High School and Rider University. Sherry retired from the State of New Jersey after many years working at DYFS and JCC. Sherry loved hiking and traveling, always ready for a new adventure combining both. Sherry loved to cook, always ready to try new recipes. An avid animal lover, Sherry was always concerned with strays and loved drives looking for white deer and other wildlife. She was especially proud of the numerous hummingbirds that returned year after year.

Sherry was a generous and giving person, always the first to help anyone that needed it. But Sherry's greatest joy was her family. Upon her retirement, she loved watching her son Colton's sport activities and you would always find her in the stands cheering his team on, especially when his baseball team won the State Championship.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Kurt and son Colton. She is also survived by her mother, Karen Thompson, her father and his wife, George and Dottie Szolomayer, her brother and sister-in-law, Jon and Mary Szolomayer, her nieces Holly Szolomayer, Lauren Szolomayer and Hayley Johnson. She is also survived by a special aunt and uncle Gail and Jim Plecs and many cousins and friends.

At Sherry's request services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown, NJ.
