Obituary

Sharon J. Russell, affectionately known as Sherry, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, in Dover, Delaware. Born on June 4, 1941, in Bordentown, New Jersey, Sharon lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a remarkable presence that touched the hearts of many.

A proud graduate of Bordentown Regional High School, Sharon embarked on a career that showcased her unwavering commitment and diligence. For over 35 years, she served as a secretary at McCay Insurance Company, where her professionalism and kindness made her an invaluable member of the team. Even after her retirement from McCay, Sharon continued to contribute her talents for an additional 15 years at Mercer County Community College, exemplifying her relentless work ethic and passion for service.

Known for her warm and inviting personality, Sharon had a unique ability to brighten every room she entered. Her welcoming nature and kindness left lasting impressions on friends, colleagues, and family alike. She was truly a beacon of light, offering comfort and joy to those fortunate enough to know her.

Sharon is survived by her beloved daughter Victoria Freeto and son-in-law Gary Freeto; granddaughter Nicole Freeto and her husband Aaron Beck-Schachter; great-grandson Michael Beck-Schachter; grandson Cameron Freeto; daughter Lorraine Gilson and son-in-law Phil Gilson. Their love and support were a constant source of strength to Sharon throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, David; her mother, Vivian; her father, George Sr.; her sister, Gail and brother; George Jr. Their memories live on in the hearts of all who knew Sharon.

Family, friends, and all who cherished Sharon are invited to pay their respects during a viewing on June 27, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Peppler Funeral Home - Bordentown, located at 122 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, NJ 08505. A Mass will follow at Mary, Mother of the Church, 45 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, NJ, beginning at 11:00 AM. The interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Cemetery Lane, Bordentown, NJ, at 12:15 PM.

Sharon J. Russell’s legacy is one of devotion, kindness, and an enduring spirit that will remain deeply cherished by her family, friends, and community. She lived a meaningful life that inspired those around her, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the years to come.
