Salvatore "Sam" Criscitiello, 90, of Allentown, NJ, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Princeton University Medical Center in Plainsboro. Born in Newark, NJ, Sam and his wife, Catherine, raised their family in Cranford and resided in Garwood for many years before moving to Allentown, NJ. A US Army veteran serving during Korea, Sam worked in construction from the age of 12. He continued to work as a General Contractor well into his 80's. He had a passion for building and woodworking and loved to visit construction work sites.
Sam was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Allentown and the Knights of Columbus Council # 7333. He enjoyed spending the mornings with his breakfast buddies at Woody's.
Son of the late Frank and Antoinette Criscitiello; he was predeceased by his loving wife, Catherine Criscitiello; his six brothers, and his sister, Lucy. Sam is survived by his three daughters and their husbands, Nina Kramkowski, Cristine and Gary Hoffner, and Janine and Sal Chiarelli; his sister, Tessie Badala; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and he loved the time he spent with the Hoffner family.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, June 28th from 6-8pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown. A funeral service will be held 11am on Thursday, June 29th at the funeral home. Interment will be private at a later date.
