Obituary

Ruth C. Truncer, 102, of Medford, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Medford Leas. Born in Mayville, NY, she was a resident of the Vineland, Princeton and Allentown areas for many years. Ruth and her husband, Joseph, were both 1929 graduates of Syracuse University. She was one of the first females to earn a double major from that university. Ruth was a substitute teacher at Allentown High School, was a Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Allentown United Methodist Church and the Allentown Library Board of Trustees. Among her favorite pastimes were being with her family and friends, traveling and playing Bridge.

Wife of the late Joseph J. Truncer, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Ramona Truncer of Allentown, NJ; her daughter and son-in-law Judy Wales and Thomas Watson of New York, NY; a grandson, James Joseph Truncer and his wife Melissa Brown of Stanford, CA; a granddaughter, Rebecca A. and her husband, Major Brian Kent Watkins of Columbia, SC; and three great-grandchildren Morgan, Will and Seth.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at the Peppler Funeral Home 114 So. Main St. Allentown. Friends may call at 10:00am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Allentown Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Ruth's name to Ranch Hope P.O. Box 325 Alloway, New Jersey 08001-0325
