Ruth C. Staub, 88, entered eternal life on Friday May 10, 2024, at Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly, NJ. Born in Paterson and raised in Totowa, NJ. She lived with her family in Oak Ridge and Robbinsville, NJ, and Smyrna DE. She has resided in Columbus, NJ, for the past 30 years. She was a communicant of St. Andrew Church where she was a devoted member of the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, and the Altar-Rosary Society.
Predeceased by her beloved husband J. Norman Staub Jr., her daughter Brenda Staub-Lust, parents Lawrence and Angeline Gross, and sister Anne Cullen. She is survived by her children: Deborah Fraczkiewicz and her husband Robert of Monroe, CT; Laurie Ragan and her husband Lawrence of State College, PA; Wayne Staub and his wife Kathleen of Manahawkin, NJ; and William Staub of Columbus, NJ. Eleven grandchildren: Jennifer Taylor (Shawn), Brian Fraczkiewicz (Lindsey), Briana, Kyle and Erin Ragan, Michael and Jared Staub, Craig Sami, Shannon and Connor Lust, and Riley Hastings. Three great grandchildren: Nora and Leah Fraczkiewicz, and Henry Taylor. Two nieces, Sharon Maggio-Care of California, and Pamela Tand of Florida.
Family and faith were of greatest importance. Ruth was a devoted wife to her love, Norman, for 37 years. As a mother of five children, she served many roles such as den mother, girl scout leader, and classroom assistant. She organized yearly family camping vacations and attended every sporting, drama, and music event. As a grandmother she never missed a Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, or graduation.
As a woman of faith, Ruth volunteered for many years and was acknowledged for her service by St. Isidore the Farmer Parish in 2020. She was an accomplished baker and cook recognized for her baking of holiday cookies for the Rosarian and SVdP bake sales, as well as her home-made soups for Lenten suppers. She hosted a weekly bible study in her home for 20 years. As the founding member of the annual Christmas Shoppe for the Sacred Heart Chapter of St. Vincent DePaul Society, she brought Christmas joy to numerous needy families.
Visitation will be held at St. Andrew Church, St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, 2489 Monmouth Rd., Jobstown, NJ, on Thursday, May 16 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am beginning with the recitation of the Rosary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am Thursday, May 16 at St. Andrew Church.
Interment will be Friday, May 17 at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cranbury - South River Rd, Jamesburg, NJ at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's name to the Society of St Vincent de Paul, 260 High Street, Mt Holly, NJ. 08060.
Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown, NJ.
