Russell W. Johnson, 77, of Cream Ridge, passed away Monday, January 31, 2011 surrounded by his family at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton. Born in Cream Ridge, he was a lifetime resident. A local area poultry farmer he worked for many years for the Monmouth County Highway Department and for Norman Bright Inc. as a parts salesman. Russell was also a member of the Chesterfield Baptist Church.
Son of the late Charles and Viola Johnson and predeceased by his brother, Charles H. Johnson, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mollie Johnson; two children and their spouses, Christine and Bichler J. Cranmer and Charles R. and Karen Johnson; five grandchildren, Shannon Cranmer, Bichler W. Cranmer, Greg Alloway, Jr. and fiancé Jenny Carroll, Joshua Johnson and Nicole Johnson; two great grandchildren, Ethan Saul and Hailey Alloway; a sister-in-law, Janet E. Johnson and a nephew, Barry Johnson.
Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, February 5 th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Interment will follow in Cream Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6-9pm at the funeral home.
