Obituary

Ruby L. Farmer 94, beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother and great grandmother of Allentown and Winter Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton. Born in Lachute, Québec, Canada, she moved to New Jersey after she met her husband Walter and lived most of her life in Allentown. Over the past 30 years they were snowbirds, spending the winters in Florida.

Ruby was a member of the Hope Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for almost 70 years and was treasurer for over 20 years. She was a longtime member of the Allentown United Methodist Church.

Ruby was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Edith Ward; her brother, Alvin; her sisters, Alvira and Shirley; and her son-in-law, Gordon.

Ruby is survived by her husband and best friend of 76 years, Walter; two daughters and their spouses, Linda and Steven Hilton of Winter Springs, FL, Sandra and Lloyd Miller of Jackson, and a son, Jeffrey of Allentown; her grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Doug and Augustine Ivins of Tulsa, OK, Crystal Hamilton of Burlington, Paul and Jill Miller of Forked River, Sheila Eppler of Kansas City, MO, Jason and Yulia Miller of Orlando, Fl, and Wade and Veronica Miller of Freehold as well as several great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom she loved and touched deeply.

Cremation services will be held at the discretion of the family under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruby's name to Hope Fire Company, 82 County Road 526, Allentown, NJ 08501 and would be appreciated.
