Roy Q. Kendrick, 82, of Millstone Twp., passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Huntington, TX and a graduate of Huntington High School, Roy was a US Army Veteran, stationed at NATO Supreme Head Quarters in Paris, France where he and his wife lived for 3 years. In 1972, Roy earned his degree from Newark State College (now Kean University). He worked as a power engineer for PSE&G, retiring after 33 years of service. A member of the Presbyterian Church and ordained deacon, Roy was also active with the Boy Scouts, serving as a Leader for Troop 47 in Rahway for 22 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved the mountains. Roy also enjoyed travelling with his wife, Betty and took many trips and cruises over the years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Springstead Kendrick; his children and their spouses, Roy Kendrick Jr. and his wife, Laura of NC, Howard Kendrick and his wife, Darlene of NJ, Mary Elizabeth Hill of FL, Allison Kendrick Elian and her husband, Ed of NJ and Richard Kendrick and his wife, Kristine of NJ; his grandchildren, Lauren Ann Hearne, Roy Kendrick III, Michael Robert Kendrick, Mark Anthony Kendrick, Alexander Michael Hill, Melissa Allison Hill, and David Jarrett Elian, as well as his great grandchildren, Charlotte Ann, Laurelei Aliva, and Henry Adam Hearne.
Services were held in the United Presbyterian Church of Millstone. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Roy's name to the United Presbyterian Church of Millstone, Music Program, 211 Millstone Rd., P.O. Box 202, Perrineville, NJ 08535.
