Roy Hendrickson, 70, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Born in Trenton, he had resided in Bordentown all of his life. He was a graduate of William MacFarland High School and was a Veteran with the New Jersey National Guard. In his early years he worked with his father in the Crosswicks Ice Plant eventually retiring from Acme Markets in 2002 after 42 years as produce/dairy manager and assistant store manager. He was a volunteer fireman with Humane Fire Company was a member of the Bordentown Elks BPOE #2085, the Star Civic Association, the 112 Field Artillery Assoc. and the Pearson Memorial United Methodist Church. Roy hobbies included working with wood, making toys and furniture for the family and model trains. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Son of the late George Hendrickson and Alice Swift, brother of the late Richard and Nancy Hendrickson, he is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Beverly Hendrickson (neeTallman), his son Roy T. Hendrickson Jr. of Bordentown, his daughters, Colleen Ranallo of Cornelius, NC and Linda Nini and her husband Albino of Hamilton Twp., five grandchildren, Julianna, Abbie, Emma and Gus Nini and Morgan Ranallo, many nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, friends and special friends with whom he traveled.
Funeral Services will be held 11 am Tuesday, January 18, at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, NJ. Interment will follow in Upper Springfield Cemetery, Jobstown, NJ. Family and friends are invited to call Monday evening from 6 to 9 pm and again Tuesday morning 10 am until time of service. Elks services will begin at 6:30pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Roy's name to the Bordentown Elks, 11 Amboy Rd., Bordentown, NJ 08505.
