Roy L. Gordon Jr., 68, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at his home with his family by his side. Born and raised in Bordentown, he had lived in Fieldsboro for 33 years before returning to Bordentown several years ago. He retired from Ocean Spray after 37 years and was Chief of Police in Fieldsboro before becoming Security Supervisor for Pinkerton/Securitas. Roy was a past member of Hope Hose Humane Co. #1 and enjoyed trips to the Casino's. He adored his grandchildren and spent time with them whenever possible.
Son of the late Roy and Ethel Gordon (nee Lawrence) and brother of the late Earl Gordon and Gladys Bugyi, he is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Betty R. Gordon (nee Bowker), his son Robert C. Gordon and his wife Denise of Beverly Hills, FL and Michele D. Ermi and her husband Stephen of Bordentown and his siblings, Dolores Huffman, Barbara O'Conor and her husband Donald, Elaine Wojcik and her husband Kenneth, W. Larry Gordon and his wife Phyllis all of Bordentown, Ronald Gordon of Browns Mills and Renee Ruczynski and her husband Robert of Roebling. Seven grandchildren, Hannah, Andrew, Bradley, Jaimee, Richard, Maureen and Cathleen, a close family friend Robin McGill of Florida and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service celebrating Roy's life will be held 4 pm Saturday, February 5 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Calling hours will be from 1 pm until time of service. Interment will be private and at the family's convenience.
