Obituary

Rowena Hebeler Klein, 94, of Upper Freehold Township died on Tuesday, November 29.  Rowena was born on December 11, 1927 to Maryellen and Henry Hebeler in Grantwood, New Jersey.  The family moved to Harrington Park, New Jersey shortly afterward, a town where Rowena lived throughout her childhood, where she married, and where she lived when all of her children were born.  It is a town she cherished.  Rowena was a graduate of Dumont High School.  Also, Rowena received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Fordham University, an impressive achievement for a woman in her day.  Rowena had a brief career as a teacher but found that her true vocation was having a family of her own.  She met her beloved husband, Joseph Francis Klein, in her high school Geometry class.  They were married on April 17, 1949.  Rowena loved children, especially her own five children: Michael, Rowena, Megan, Scott, and Toni.  The family moved to Upper Freehold Township in 1968.  Rowena was also the loving grandmother of six grandchildren: Kyle, Casey, Rowena, Teresa, Adam, and Ian.

Rowena was an avid reader and read for hours every day before she went to bed.  She was also a devout Catholic; she enjoyed going to mass with her family and, in later years, rosary devotions with her son, Scott.  She was the president of the Catholic Daughters in Harrington Park and Girl Scout troop leader when her daughters were young. For many years Rowena did fundraising for Multiple Sclerosis and provided hours of daycare to her grandchildren, especially Rowena and Ian.  Rowena loved gatherings with her family and friends.

Rowena was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Francis Klein, her parents, Henry and Maryellen Hebeler and her sister, Maryellen Hebeler Mackey.  Rowena is survived by her five children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild: son Michael Klein and his wife Susan Harrop Klein of McClure, PA and their children Rowena Klein Testa (husband Joseph Testa) and Adam Klein; daughter Rowena Klein Adamcik and her husband Lt. Col. James Adamcik of Perrysburg, OH and their children Kyle Adamcik and Casey Adamcik Feitshans (husband Tyler Feitshans) and great-grandchild, Aria Feitshans; daughter Megan Klein Gruber and her husband Robert Gruber of Lansdale, PA and their daughter Teresa (Tess) Gruber; son Scott Klein of Upper Freehold, NJ; and daughter Toni Klein and her husband Dr. John Krimmel of Burlington, NJ and her son Ian Grant.

Services were private with a Mass of Christian Burial Celebrated at St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Allentown.
