Ronald F. Werth, 79, of Allentown, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Born and raised in Camillus, NY, a suburb of Syracuse, Ron lived in New York City, Freehold, Westminster, CA and Teaneck before retiring to Allentown in 2002. His career in market research for television and radio networks spanned more than 40 years. Ron was a devoted father and husband, an avid sports fan – especially loyal to his beloved Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Browns and Syracuse Orange – and a voracious reader of thrillers and mysteries, finishing over a thousand books between 2002 and 2015.
Son of the late Clara and Fred Werth, Ron is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Marcia Werth; his two sons, Andrew Werth of West Windsor and Ted Werth of Los Angeles, CA and his sister, Louise Elsbey of Syracuse, NY.
A memorial service for Ron will be held Friday, February 19th at 1pm at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 So. Main St. Allentown, with a visitation from 11am until the time of service. Entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Joan Dancy & PALS Foundation (www.joandancyandpals.org) or the ALS Association (www.alsa.org).
