Ronald E. Asson, 81, of Hedding, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010 at Samaritan Hospice, Mt. Holly. Born in Bordentown, he was a lifetime Bordentown and Hedding area resident. Ronald graduated from William F. McFarland High School in Bordentown and later was employed with the New Jersey State Police Communications Bureau, retiring in 1992. A member of the Hedding Methodist Church, Ronald was active in the Church Choir and was a lay leader for over 30 years. He started and coached the first Midget Football team in Mansfield Township and was also a Little League Coach. Ronald's favorite hobby in recent years was researching his family's genealogy. Son of the late Stanley and Virginia Asson, he was predeceased by his brother, Kermit Asson, his sister, Barbara Million and his son-in-law, Robert Costello. Ronald is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris W. Asson; three children, Kathleen Costello and her fiancé, Michael Adams of Marlton, Patricia Yeagle and her husband Bruce of Louisville, KY and Ronald Asson and his wife Karen of Milford, MA; 7 grandchildren, Ryan and Katie Costello, Derrick and his wife Mellissa and Darren Yeagle and Laura, Mary and Thomas Asson as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 10am on Tuesday, November 23rd at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, Pastor Kim Wecht will officiate. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
