Robert S. Van Buren, 57, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at his home, with his loving family by his side. Born in Brooklyn, NY he has resided in Bordentown Township for over 25 years. A graduate of St. John's University of Jamaica, NY where he received a Bachelor of Science degree, Robert worked as a logistics manager for several companies including Carter Wallace of Cranbury.
Robert was passionate about music, especially the Beatles, and played the bass guitar with a band. He was an avid New York Yankee and Giants fan. He took great pride in being a father, brother, son, grandfather, uncle, and friend; they were more than just titles to him. Robert was genuine, honest, compassionate, and had a way of making you feel better about yourself.
Son of the late Robert L. Van Buren and brother of the late Teresa LaTorroca, he is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Mary Ann Van Buren (nee Cardinal); his mother Eileen Van Buren (nee Doyle) of Old Bridge; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Jamie Bartolomei of Bordentown and BillieAnn and Anthony Graiff of Pompano Beach, FL; two brothers, George Van Buren and his fiance' Elizabeth Sharp of Tinton Falls, Stephen Van Buren and his wife Lisa of Old Bridge; three sisters, Eileen D'Arcy and her husband David of Manhattan, NY, Donna Baginski and her husband Thomas of Metuchen and Denise Van Buren of Manhattan, NY; a brother-in-law, Frank LaTorroca of Sparta; two grandchildren, Christina and Nicholas Bartolomei and eight nieces and nephews, Daniel, Benjamin, Michael, Christina, Robert, Danielle, Elizabeth and Allison, along with many good friends.
Funeral Services will be 1 pm Saturday, June 30 th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bordentown Township. Friends may call Saturday morning 11 am until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to Compassionate Care Hospice, 600 Highland Drive, Ste 624, Westampton, NJ 08060 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
