Robert Wayne Stinson, Sr, 85, of Millstone Township, passed away August 6, 2023 at CentraState Hospital in Freehold. Born in Penns Grove in Salem County, NJ,  he attended Allentown High School and was owner of J&B Roofing Company which served most of the central Jersey area.  A member of the Millstone Elks Lodge #2613, he enjoyed playing pool and horseshoes, watching westerns, singing country music and Karaoke.  A great storyteller with a great sense of humor, he was often found telling jokes and regaling people with stories from his childhood and his roofing career.  He loved weightlifting and healthy living, but above all, he loved going to family picnics and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Son of the late Louis and Helen Stinson, he was predeceased by his son, Robert Stinson II, and his siblings, Howard Stinson, Doris Zappacosta, Louis Stinson, Jr, Eileen Eldridge, and Carolee Miller. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy; his daughter, Sandra Stinson; his grandsons, Robert W. Stinson III, and his wife, Karis;  Kyle Stinson and Emery Mishky;  his granddaughters, Angela Mishky and Lauren Stinson and her husband, Matthew Mateluna; his great grandchildren, Matthew and Brayden Mateluna, Freya, Robert Wayne IV, and Logan Stinson; his siblings, Marion Meredith of Cream Ridge, Florence Moore of  Vincentown, Jill Hotchkin of New Egypt, Jean Ireton of Lumberton and Richard Stinson of Pleasant Garden, NC, as well as many nieces and nephews

A funeral service will be held 12 noon on Friday, August 11th at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 South Main St., Allentown. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm and again Friday 11am until time of service. Interment will follow in Emley's Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to the Millstone Elks Lodge #2613, 22 Burnt Tavern Rd, Clarksburg, NJ 08510.
