Obituary
Robert G. Stahl, 90, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Good Shepherd-Palm Terrace Hospice House in Lakeland.
Born and raised in Binghamton, NY, he served over twelve years in the US military, serving with distinction in the US Army, US Army Air Corps and US Air Force during WWII and the Korean War. He married his wife, the former Marie E. Duarte, in 1949. They lived in Bordentown for thirty-two years before moving to Lakeland in 1991. Mrs. Stahl passed away in 1995.
A retiree of General Motors, he was an avid baseball and NASCAR fan and enjoyed the flea markets for many years.
Husband of the late Marie E. Stahl, son of the late Herbert N. Stahl and Anna Kozik Stahl Poolen, stepson of the late Angelica Stahl, brother of the late Elsie Stahl and Arnold Stahl, he is survived by his sons Edward M. Stahl of Bernardsville, NJ and David A. Stahl of Lakeland, FL, three granddaughters Heather Stahl and her husband Glenn Mason of Somerset, NJ, Kristin Stahl of Hoboken, NJ and Jessica Stahl of Bernardsville, NJ, three grandsons, Robert M. Stahl and his wife Christina Stahl of Tampa, FL, Michael Stahl of Tampa FL and John Centeno of Brunswick, GA, four brothers Herbert O. Stahl, Clifford Stahl, Daniel Stahl and his wife Rachel and all of St. Cloud, FL, Terry Stahl and his wife Mary Lou of Kissimmee, FL, four sisters and their husbands Donna and Donald Brennan of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, Irma and Alan Crump of Fort Collins, Colorado, Karen and Richard Thornton of Wilkesboro, NC and Cynthia Stahl of St. Cloud, FL, three great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday 10:30 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Interment will follow in North Crosswicks Cemetery, Hamilton Township. Family and friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6 pm to 9 pm and Thursday morning 9 am until time of service at the funeral home.
