Robert "Bobby" C. Rue, 72, of Imlaystown, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at his home. Born in Allentown, he was a lifetime Imlaystown resident. A graduate of Allentown High School and Trenton State College, Bobby owned and operated Hamilton Pub for several years before working as an Asset Manager for NMR, retiring in 2012. He was a talented wood worker and worked for many years restoring antique furniture. Throughout his life, he had a great passion for music. A recording artist with Bongo Boy Records, Bobby was a true local talent who wrote and sang his original songs. He played both the acoustic and bass guitar and sang in local venues with many other talented artists. Bobby will be missed and remembered by his extended family of talented musician friends.

Predeceased by his father, Willard H. "Skeet" Rue, his mother, Lillian "Sis" Crockett Rue and his grandparents, Gertrude and Franklin G. Rue formerly of Imlaystown and Iowa Light and Robert Crockett formerly of Davy, West Virginia; Bobby is survived by his loving fiancée, Jody Weber of Imlaystown; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sara Rue Ponczek and her husband Benjamin of Union Dale, PA and Diane W. McGrew and her husband Phillip of Delaware, OH; his nieces, Sara K. Hullibarger and her husband John David of Strongsville, OH and Casey N. Clark of Johnstown, OH; his great nieces, Lillian, Brooklyn and Peyton Hullibarger all of Strongsville, OH; his special cousins, Donna J. Rue of Imlaystown, Lori A. Rue of Collingswood, R. Phillip Brick of Naples, Fl and David, Ron and Richard Crockett of both Virginia and West Virginia.

A viewing will be held Monday, October 23rd from 7-9pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown. Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 24th at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bobby's name to the American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736 for cancer research.
