Robert L. Popp, 80, of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital, Newtown, PA.  Born in Trenton, he was a lifetime area resident.  A US Marine Corp Veteran serving in the Korean War, Robert retired from Princeton Plasma Physics Lab where he worked for almost 30 years.  He was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan and loved to golf.  ""Popp"" was loved by everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed by all.

Son of the late Joseph and Vilma Papp, he was predeceased by his daughter, Nancie Baus, his sister, Gloria Hovemeyer and his brother, Albert Papp; Robert is survived by his wife of 28 years, Janet Popp; four children and their spouses, Samantha and Marty O'Brien, Matthew and Maria Popp, Nathan and Carla Hopkins and Mark and Barbara Hopkins; eight grandchildren, Kristin Rogalinski and her husband Dwayne, Shannon and Daniel O'Brien, Angelina Seabrooks, Matthew II, and Taylor Popp and Nathan II and Corey Hopkins; three great grandchildren, Jared and Ava Rogalinski and Lyla Seabrooks and a son-in-law Jack Baus.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, 11am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 South Main St. Allentown.  The Rev. Patrick Castles will officiate.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  Friends may call Monday from 5-8 at the funeral home.
