Robert W. Lengyen, 86, of Burlington, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Masonic Home in Burlington. Born in Detroit, Robert grew up working on the family farm in North Crosswicks. He was a US Navy veteran and retired from the Hamilton Post Office where he worked for many years. A former member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Yardville, Robert loved all sports but was a diehard Detroit Lions fan. Robert was devoted to his family and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Son of the late Andrew and Mary Lengyen, he was predeceased by his son, Thomas Lengyen and his son-in-law, Frank Toleno. Robert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte J. Lengyen; his children, Robert Lengyen of North Hanover, Ronald Lengyen of Burlington, Janice Toleno of Fort Collins, CO; Judy and Jim Watters of Hamilton and Mary Lynn Kopec of Hamilton; his grandchildren, Genevieve Lengyen, Melissa Lengyen, Megan DiBiasio and her husband Nick, Anthony Toleno, Lindsay Watters, James Watters, and Elizabeth, Stephanie, Christina and Alexandra Kopec as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Friday, September 15th at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 555 Yardville-Allentown Rd, Yardville. A graveside service will follow in North Crosswicks Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 9-10am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Allentown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Masonic Charity Foundation, 902 Jacksonville Rd, Burlington, NJ 08016.
