Robert J. Larsen, 82, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the Masonic Home in Burlington, NJ. Born in Fords, NJ, he was a former resident of Edison, before moving to Columbus 17 years ago. Robert retired after 25 years of service with the U.S. Government, General Services Administration and served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Lafayette Lodge #27 F&AM of Rahway and the National Association of Fleet Tug Sailors. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting and loved playing billiards.
Son of the late Holger and Nellie Larsen, he is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Roberta Larsen (nee Gutwein); a sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Joseph Kennedy of PA.; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Thomas of Florida; a niece Jean Gutwein-Gallos of Toms River and nephews Tim Kennedy and his wife Tracy of Texas, Thomas Kennedy of PA., Robert Thomas and his wife Lata of Red Bank and Russell Gutwein and his son Hunter of Toms River. Bob will also be missed by many cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be 11:30 am, Monday, March 15 at the Masonic Home Chapel, 902 Jacksonville Rd., Burlington. Interment will follow in Clover Leaf Park Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ. Masonic Services will begin at 11 am. Friends may call from 10 am until time of service. The family respectively requests memorial contributions be offered to the Masonic Home of NJ, 902 Jacksonville Rd., Burlington, NJ 08016 Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown.
