Robert A. Kunkel, 81, of Bordentown City died Monday in Compassionate Care Hospice. Born in Albany, PA he resided in the area for over 50 years. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran; a 50 year member of Carbon Lodge # 242, F&AM of Jim Thorpe, PA and was also was a member of the Knights Templar.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Spooner), a son and daughter-in-law, Kris and Robin Kunkel, a daughter, Bobette Bohanan (Kunkel) all of Bordentown City, a brother and sister-in-law, Stewart and Mary Kunkel of Stoney Run, PA, a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Donald Moyer of Shartlesville, PA, grandchildren, Ryan and Jordan Kunkel, Cagney Rigney, Zachary and Maximilian Bohanan, one great grandchild, Tyler Kunkel as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM from the First Baptist Church, Prince and Church Streets, Bordentown City. Interment with military honors will follow in the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in North Hanover Township. Calling hours will be one hour previous to the service at the Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Peppler Funeral Home of Bordentown.
