Obituary

Robert L. Johnson , 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at his home in Hamilton Township, NJ. Born in Trenton, he grew up in Hamilton Square and was a lifetime resident of Hamilton Township. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, Bob commenced his 43-year career as a machinist with C.V. Hill Refrigeration in Trenton. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed woodworking, and had a true love for his garden. Bob took great pride in the vegetables he would so graciously share with his family, friends, and neighbors. Bob and Ginny enjoyed traveling to different parts of the country, although their favorite spot was in the Poconos where they would enjoy two weeks of shopping and dining, typically returning with a trunk full of Christmas presents for all. After Ginny's passing, Bob would enjoy spending many hours sharing stories with his two grandchildren, Michael and Danielle, who would stop by regularly to deliver groceries and prepared meals for him to enjoy. We hold many warm and wonderful memories of Bob in our hearts, but our fondest memory of Bob will be the kind, generous, helping man he was, the man who was always ready to lend a helping hand without being asked.

Predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Lucile Johnson, his loving wife, Virginia "Ginny" Johnson, his stepson, William Urban, his stepson-in-law, Richard Lupkes, his granddaughter, Aricia Anne Whitesell and his great granddaughter, Felicia Carsella, Bob is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Donna Johnson, his two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Edward Bird and Jacqueline and Bob Carmosino, his brother, Samuel Johnson, his stepdaughters Phyllis McCallister and Barbara Lupkes, his stepson and stepdaughter-in-law Earl and Sharon Howard. Bob is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
