Obituary

Robert J. Hitchcock, 80, of Cranbury passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the Elms of Cranbury. Born in Catskill, NY, he resided in Allentown, NJ for many years before moving to Columbus, NJ and recently to Cranbury. Robert graduated from Rider University and Albany Business College. He retired in 1992 from Johnson and Johnson in New Brunswick where he was employed for over 40 years. Robert was a former member of the Upper Freehold Township Planning Board and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and had many interests.

Predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Nettie Hitchcock and brother of the late Wallace Hitchcock, he is survived by three children and their spouses, Cynthia and Brian Bricker of Columbus, OH, Bob and Robin Hitchcock of Levittown, PA and Donna and Craig Stier of Cranbury; nine grandchildren, Rob, Michael and Diana Blakeman, Jared, Jordan, Jesse, Jaime Hitchcock, Severine and Isabella Stier; a sister, Joyce Kirtson of Kingston, NY; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Mary Beth Hitchcock of Red Hook, NY and Daniel and Anna Marie Hitchcock of Catskill, NY; five great grandchildren as well many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 12 Noon on, Saturday, November 28th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. The Rev. Horace Frantz will officiate. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 11 am until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, NYC 10001.
