Obituary

Robert F. Burkert, 76, of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at his home. Born in Trenton, Bob was a 1962 graduate of Princeton High School and later attended Roanoke College. He retired from SciTec Inc. in Princeton where he worked as an engineer. Bob was a lifetime member of the Lawrenceville Fire Department and was very mechanical, always building, tinkering, and fixing things around the house. He loved camping, gardening, and his beloved cats.

Son of the late Harold E. Burkert and Louise Miller Tomacik; he was predeceased by his father-in-law, Martin T. Monroe and his brother-in-law, Martin Monroe Jr. Bob is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Terry Burkert; his stepmother, Kathy Burkert; his aunts and uncle, Carol and David Everett and Charlotte Potent; his stepbrothers, David, Daniel and Thomas Walters; his mother-in-law, Josephine Monroe; brothers-in-law, Patrick, Michael and his wife Carol and Robert Monroe; his special niece, Shannon Monroe Walton as well as many other nieces and nephews and his very special friends, Jay and Norma Davidson, Joann and Tommy Wyckoff and Jim Howell.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 5 th from 6-8pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday January 6 th at 12pm with an interment to follow in Highland Cemetery in Hopewell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to the Hope Fire Company, 82 Rt. 526, Allentown, NJ 08501

Please be aware that there is limited occupancy in the funeral home. Social distancing must be observed, and face coverings must be worn at the funeral home and cemetery.
