Rita M. Farrell, 80, of Old Bethpage, NY passed away Monday March 30, 2020 at Plainview Hospital in Plainview, Long Island. Born in Astoria, Queens, she lived in Queens Village, NY before settling in Bethpage and was a bank teller for Bethpage Federal Credit Union. Rita was a family woman who loved everything New York, including the Rangers, Mets, Pudgies and KFC chicken and Chinese spareribs  She enjoyed watching game shows, particularly wheel of fortune and jeopardy and loved spending family gatherings with her siblings and their families.

Daughter of the late, John and Marcella Student, she was predeceased by her husband Charles who passed away in December. Rita is survived by her children, Lauretta Farrell of Westfield, NJ, Kathleen Jenkins of Old Bethpage, Charles L. Farrell III of Smithtown, NY and John Farrell of Denver CO; grandchildren, Amanda and Alex Jenkins and Connor Farrell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Jeff Hoffmann of Kendall Park, NJ and Marcy and Tom Kraus of Norwood NJ; brother and sister-in-law, John and Chris Student of Drexel Hill, PA as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Cremation will be private at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rita's name to a charity of the donor's choice. Services under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown, NJ.
