Obituary

Rita Brady, 77, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at her home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she resided in the Allentown, New Jersey area for many years. Daughter of the late Paul and Marguerite Secondo, she was predeceased by her sister Pauline Keifer. Rita is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Brady; three sons, Joseph Brady and his wife Diane, James Brady and his wife Stacey, and Jeremy Brady and his wife, Jennifer; and six grandchildren (Kyle, Elise, Kristin, Kelley, Abigail, and Thomas).

After 23 years of service, Rita retired as the secretary for Allentown High School in 1998. During her years at Allentown High School she took several trips as a chaperone with the language classes to various countries. Rita could be heard throughout the halls of Allentown High School everyday announcing the morning news and Pledge of Allegiance.  During her time in St. Augustine, Florida, Rita enjoyed water aerobics, shopping and dining out with her girlfriends, and visits to the beach with her children and grandchildren. As an avid movie fan, she contributed candid movie critiques to the neighborhood newspaper.  Rita always wore a smile, carried laughter in her heart, and was an uplifting spirit to all in her presence. She was especially proud of her children and grandchildren and loved them all deeply.

Funeral service will be held at 9 am on Saturday, June 18 th at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 So. Main Street, Allentown. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.  Friends may call Friday, June 17 th from 2 â?? 4 and 6 â?? 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Rita Brady Memorial Scholarship Fund and can be sent to the Allentown High School 27 High Street Allentown, New Jersey 08501, c/o Barbara Lehman.
