Richard O. Ward, 90, of Allentown, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019. Born in Mercerville, he was a long time Allentown resident. Richard attended Rutgers University and later went to work as an insurance agent for Rue Insurance, retiring after over 30 years of service. As a man of great faith, he was active with the Chesterfield Baptist Church where he was a dedicated member. He was an avid NY Yankees fan and loved being on his John Deere tractor, working in his garden and growing the best tomatoes around.

Son of the late John and Sadie Ward and predeceased by his daughter, Karen Canale and brothers, Jack and Don Ward; he is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carole Ward. Richard is also survived by his daughters, who loved and cared for him deeply, Lori and Bob Bobko and Colleen and Joe Suozzo; his grandchildren, Channon Knapp, Kyle Knapp and his wife Sophia, Jena Majoros and her husband Pat and Jae Canale; his great grandchildren, Dominic, Mia, Kayleb, Lochlan and Willa, his sister, Jane Claypool; his daughters, Carol Popham and her husband Bryson and JoAnne Kelly and her husband Terry as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held 12pm on Wednesday, June 26 ^th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Friends may call Wednesday from 10am until the time of service. Interment will follow in Allentown Methodist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Richards name to the Chesterfield Baptist Church, 209 Matthews Lane, Chesterfield, NJ 08515.
